Rock Paper Scissors

My experience working at Pinaka Interactive as a Game Design Consultant was interesting as we focused purely on the casual gaming market. After the initial pitching of ideas, we had a couple of really good ones that we decided would quickly implement. RPS was one of them. It is a grid-based puzzle game in which you direct yourself to the finish using the obstacles in your way - rocks, papers, and scissors.
Puzzle and level design meshed together perfectly. I designed approximately 30 levels in total, with varying grid sizes, elements and strategies. With the collection of over 100 levels made by the designing team altogether, the absolute best were hand-picked for the vertical slice of the game, consisting of 12 levels, majority of which were made by me, and garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding its deviously simple but clever tactics. This was made possible due to my previous experiences as a level and puzzle designer for previous projects at NammaLore as well as constantly trying new ideas while playtesting.
The scoring system also plays a large role in the game, which I helped design by presenting a leaderboard system. By keeping the game slightly competitive in that sense, there would be options to monetize the game, ideas of which I also pitched and helped develop. The ideas were dropped in favour of keeping the game simple and just old-school fun.
For placeholder sounds, I helped hand-pick the soundtrack for the game. Some of the placeholder art also needed some corrections with consistency, with which I helped direct the artist so as to not finalize it by end of production.
